from, to is a playful game based on individuality within the modularity of the internet. It is an experiment that attempts to explore the vastness of human decisions, evolution, and independence. Even given the same tools, the same rules, we never truly understand the effects of our actions — and yet, the paths we take are always our own.    Website designed and coded by Maria Ji for Print to Screen, under the guidance of Ryan Waller RISD Spring 2016

from, to begins with instructions to follow, with a new pattern displayed each time the page is refreshed. The user would "connect" the dots, but not be able to see his/her final path until they click the "paint bucket," which would reveal their path only as it is ready to print. This "blind" drawing also reveals the original path, showing how far from the "correct" path the user has drawn. In short, we are all given the same modules, the same points of beginning and end, the same number of turns, yet each path looks totally different.
